In A Flash Photography has photographed some of the world's most important heads of state, entertainers, fashion models, celebrities, corporate executives and everyday people.

Professional freelance photographer and President, Derril P. Vallery, or "Flash,"(as many clients affectionately call him) has served as the primary photographer for various news agencies and U.S. publications. His creative photography and consulting duties have allowed him to develop a versatile and somewhat spontaneous style. Much of his work has moved the industry to label him as the "photographer of reality."

Mr. Vallery has a high regard for art, and is focused to capture real feelings, genuine emotions and natural images of his most complex photographic work. His approach also allows him to find the extrinsic quality of his subject, while still focusing in on the intrinsic nature and true characteristics of the subject's personality.

The whole point of photography is to capture a certain intimacy between subject and photographer. Emotional content is what distinguishes a high-quality image from an ordinary snapshot.

Photography is more than the ability to capture details in light and shadow. It also captures the most important element.....the emotional state of the subject. This is what the viewer responds to: mood, state of being, transmitted from location, through all
the complicated intervening technology of camera, laboratory, and medium,ultimately to the viewer's mind.

My mission is to infuse emotion into image. I have been creating images for over twelve years, with a wide variety of subjects including dignitaries, legendary jazz musicians,professional athletes, politicians and every day people.

There is poetry common to these subjects that satisfies some longing in me.

For this, he has traveled to every part of Texas,much of North America, and several foreign countries, developing a keen sense for the precise interplay of location and model that makes for a great image.
